Common questions

Should I use Email or Phone mode? +

Email is the safe default — it's familiar, low-friction, and works for newsletters, product updates, and nurture sequences. Most users are comfortable sharing their email.

Phone shines when urgency matters — launch day alerts, flash sales, or time-sensitive drops. SMS has dramatically higher open rates (~98%) and faster response times (~90 seconds), but some users may hesitate to share their phone number.

Not sure? Start with email. You can always create a second project in phone mode later.

Can I collect both emails and phone numbers? +

Yes! Create two projects — one in email mode, one in phone mode — and place both widgets on your site. Each project has its own embed code, dashboard, and export.

What is E.164 format? +

E.164 is the international standard for phone numbers (e.g. +14155551234). It's the format required by SMS platforms like Twilio, Plivo, and Amazon SNS. waitlist-kit auto-formats every phone number to E.164 at signup, so your list is ready to use immediately.

How do I export my data? +

Go to your dashboard, click "Export CSV", and you'll get a clean spreadsheet with all signups, referral codes, and timestamps. No limits, no paywalls — your data is always yours.

Does waitlist-kit send SMS or emails for me? +

No. waitlist-kit collects signups and formats them for you. When you're ready to send messages, export your list and use it with your preferred platform — Twilio, Mailchimp, SendGrid, or anything else.
